Kappa are legendary creatures from Japanese folklore.
They are mischievous troublemakers. Their pranks range from the relatively innocent to the more troublesome, such as kidnapping children. Even today, signs warning about kappa appear by bodies of water in some Japanese towns and villages. He is the twenty-sixth design for 2008's 31 Amigurumi in October.
